Desktop Cleanup #1

Nurses!

Why is it that any old photo is charming - no matter what. And pictures we take today, maybe only a few out of the hundreds we take, are good.

Or maybe we only see the ones that made it through the aging process or the wear and tear of life?

Or is it the fact that film was more valuable back then? The photographer had to be even more selective of when to push the shutter button.

Weekend in Austin!

I'm behind in posting these, which isn't that abnormal really. But, had a great time at maker faire! We were exhausted after a full day of screen printing!

Let it Snow

Here are some more pictures

Snowman pins

I finished and mailed out ten snowman pins for my Lollishop promo bags. Boy, they took a long time to finish. It was well worth it. I was very pleased with the results. What do you think?

Brandon's Japan photos

I went to Japan as an ambassador representing Birmingham in high school, and went with some of my best friends. Here is me, alison, and teresa at a tea ceremony. Who knows why i look so angry - but it was really cool to see all the photos, because all of mine were pretty bad. This was before the days of digital photography!

I have spent the weekend stitching my fingers off. Taking breaks just to buy groceries and do a quick Christmas shopping run. Last week I finished my third "Dream Girl" doll. She was finished just in time to make it in the February edition of Somerset Life Magazine. It is with a group ad for the new Lollishop. She turned out beautiful. What do you think?

can you guess what this is?

the cops and the drunk dude

I think I am getting really ready to move. I love my apartment, it's comfortable and cute and the perfect size - but there are small scary things going on that make it hard to love completely.

Last night around 1 am I heard a banging on my front door. (and i sleep through everything so the fact i woke up to it is impressive). I peeked through my window to see who it was.. it was some man I'd never seen. So i totally freaked out and sat there for a minute not knowing what to do. I peeked through the window a lot and tried to keep totally quiet, then he lied down on the porch.. i snuck into the bathroom, where i called the security people who sent over about 3 cars, 2 cops, 2 ambulance guys. While I was waiting on them it became pretty obvious he'd fallen asleep since the snoring was enormous. The cops were having a hard time waking him up, so he was maced and the fumes got to me even from where i was, barely coming outside to talk to the cops.

It all turned out ok, but at the time it was really scary. The cops were talking to him for about an hour, and they were yelling back and forth a lot. He wasn't cooperating. Eventually they took him away. Adam came over for comfort and I went back to sleep around 330 am.

whew!

Halloween Doll

Boy, this doll sure took a long time to finish! There were many beading details and embellishments to complete. This is Jasper, the third of my dream girls series. She is about 12" tall and ready for Halloween fun!
You can find her at my Etsy shop.

The Cup

(thanks andrewle)

This is a cup that has reoccurred in my life, and I'm sure yours and everyone else's! I decided to take a photo every time i saw it, and it made for some oddly interesting photos. My favorite ones, are like where's waldo. Try to find the cup!
So then i made a flickr group for it. It's really exciting to get other people in on this, and see what they see.

Please join the group!

I am working very hard developing new designs for my Lollishop opening in November. I have started some great little snowman pins. I am also going to be part of a joint ad in Somerset Life Magazine. I am making a valentine doll. She is really very detailed. Lots of pinks, roses, and sequins, of course.
Here is a little French doll named Betsy. She has a hand crocheted shawl and hand painted face.
Happy crafting!

This is Quintron, I was google image searching new orleans to work on a logo for work, and this came up. I thought the guy in the picture looked familiar.. but if you know Adam, this looks EXACTLY like him. There are other pictures of Quintron on his myspace page, but this one is the most impressive likeness!

It's uncanny!!!

(except for the vampire teeth)

Little Magic Witch

Here is a tiny 5" tall witch that is on my Etsy shop. She is small but mighty! She took over 3 hours to make from start to finish. She is all hand stitched and beaded.
