Some musical nomads came through my town and made their lean-to out of The Bottletree for a few hours. Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground blazed an outstanding sonic path for mister Damien Jurado this past Thursday, to the delight, I'd say, to all in the house. Members of (new crush band) Kay Kay backed him as he presented loads of songs from the recently released Saint Bartlett.
The bonus to all this lovely music is that the glorious and talented photographer Sarah Jurado has put on her management pants and came along with the whole crew...AND let me follow her around with a camera. I still have other film to develop but here (above) is one I like from this first roll. More to come (as well as eventually better scans).

I swear I am worse then the kids! This is our last week of school before summer vacation. That means finishing grades, cleaning the art room, saying goodbye for the summer and lots of work!
Somehow this weekend I have been able to fit in a little designing also...not sure how.
I have always loved cameos. I think it is amazing how they can be carved into delicate works of art!
I have a few cameo designs that are made into cross stitch patterns in my shop. They are all full stitches...no half stitcvhes here. Try stitching one when you have a little time to sit back and relax!!

A mississippi artist, Ellen Langford is one I've been aware of for a while, but have recently found her on the internet. I wanted to share some paintings by her.. her color choice is beautiful, mature, perfect. And the way that colors are merged and shapes simplified makes it all about the color for me. It translates to greatly enjoyable eye candy.
This is one ad from a campaign I started a while back & I'm really happy to be able to reveal it now.
I hope that words are not necessary to explain it :)
There are more to come in this series! Just you wait!

One review from the Northside Sun that made me really happy : "This is going to definitely grab some attention! Cutest ad I have ever seen in ten years of advertising. 'Tongues will be waggin’ over this one! Love it…."
Another one from VIP Jackson Mag : "Hahahaha!! I LOVE this ad! Definitely catchy and one readers will remember too."
p.s. Unsolicited. I was happy to get such great feedback, had to share and celebrate!!!
