Under thing!!
This was just so much fun to make!! I found a beautiful fabric at a local shop here at the beach. http://www.whatsyourstitchnstuff.com/ Oh, I had too much fun!!
The fabric is full of bra and pantie designs. So I cut them out and embellished them. Then I made a felt base and sewed on the pins. I have 4 more that I want to work on tonight. As soon as my daughter gets to sleep I will be back to work.
My husbands band is playing tonight...so I can have a little time to myself to work. Have a great weekend everyone!

Poodle Fun
Isn't this adorable???? I just love this Poodle Pin! She is just so much fun. I just listed her...but I need to see if I have some more of this material to do more pins!
I love poodles! I have a sweet friend that has always had white poodles. Sweet little dogs ...but very energetic!
This one is definitely for a pink lover, given the hot pink polka dots and the roses!

Garden Doll
Here is a little doll that would just love to join you while you water your plants! She is about 6" tall made from moss colored felt. She is hand sewn from my own sketch. Her flowers are sewn around her embroidered and beaded face. I put her on my door wreath and she looked adorable! See what you think.
Day 203
this is some monk dude blessing places in the main town area of takayama, japan. bitchin hat, amigo.
i promise i want to give me detail in my life and what have you.
it's been a busy week and its not slowing down until august. im very thankful for that of course. i've done two shoots this week so far and i have another tomorrow and a wedding saturday. we leave sunday for ATL then monday for costa rica for bob's wedding. that...should be awesome.
i get back from costa rica and steph comes up for interview/apartment hunting which is exciting.
i ate some pears today and MAN they are just as good as i remember them [from all of life]. they keep on staying delicious. I salute you, Pears.
i started a challenge with my sister to try to get healthier. all sorts of weekly challenges and the winner gets cash money. hopefully we'll both win by eating better and exercising and all that crap. its week three of 25. it's a long way to festivus.
also in tangentially related news, i have set it up so bryan johnson can start contributing to popTpop. he and his crew get lots of them on a regular basis, so hopefully there will be more activity over there soon. i have so many i need to post i just havent yet. forgive, all 4 of you who view that blog. it'll be a book one day, i think.
im tired.

LiveJournal - the early "social network"
It seems that a lot of my friends who used to use LiveJournal, as if it was a daily "have to," are still using it. And I too use it sometimes, but usually just to let out rants and emotions that I otherwise have no one else to share them with. so my readers of those are my old friends from college. from back in the day when LiveJournal was the cool thing.
Is it still cool? are kids using it these days?
I'm assuming all traffic has gone to Facebook. (i love facebook too)
With that said though, is LiveJournal like this for many other people who used to use it daily? do they still use it? Are there other pockets of friends who use it to keep in touch?
Perhaps LiveJournal is now a collection of mid 20's and 30's individuals still keeping in touch with one another. LiveJournal, to me, has become a very authentic place. It's more like a collection of letters. And to think that it used to be weird quizzes and weird questions, and messing around with each other. showing off. and all the while a public journal.
But it's really pretty neat to think about how I can go to my old journal and read posts of those people I'm really close to. or once was, and will always feel close to and love.
and then I can go to Facebook and read about people that i knew in high school who I've completely lost touch with, people who i've met once randomly, and people that I know now and see on a regular basis.
Don't forget Twitter. I've set mine up to send me a constant stream of inspiration and quotes, and posts by people who I admire. But most of the people on Twitter, I don't really know. Of course there's some close friends on there. but that's not the majority of my stream.
Really, I can hardly remember what life was like without cell phones or things like Facebook and LiveJournal. It's all made it so easy, and strangely impersonal. Are we going to forget how to act face to face? I already have a hard enough time doing that as it is.

Day 201
A bit of a non-sequitur tonight. This is a still from 8mm. It's a photo I wish I'd gotten with a still camera but I only got it on video before they moved. I love some umbrella clusters. It's a V(s)optpop.

Day 198
Above is part of a Sleeping in Japan series I'm working on.
Today I shot again for my friend Emily's company. It required a freaking scissor lift. So this is me photographing two stories up teetering on some metal twigs.
Here is a shot Emily took of me up there.

Day 194
Monkey Business
Monkeys just seem to be on my mind lately! I have 2 new plush designs. Here is a finished one I just put in the shop. She has bendable arms and a bendable tail. Boy did she take a while to hand sew...all those curves!
Next I started the guitar favors for my daughters birthday party...just a few days away! I really like how they look. The photo does not do them justice. What do you think?

Stefan Sagmeister's Things I have Learned in my Life So Far
Complaining is silly. Either act or forget.
Thinking life will be better in the future is stupid. I have to live now.
Being not truthful works against me.
Organizing a charity group is surprisingly easy.
Everything I do always comes back to me.
Drugs feel great in the beginning and become a drag later on.
Over time I get used to everything and start taking it for granted.
Money does not make me happy.
Traveling alone is helpful for a new perspective on life.
Assuming is stifling.
Keeping a diary supports my personal development.
Trying to look good limits my life.
Worrying solves nothing.
Material luxuries are best enjoyed in small doses.
Having guts always works out for me.

Three Wishes
Hope you all had a great 4Th of July!!
Well, how can I explain mine? We went about 2 miles away to see the fire works. We took our Lexus and were waiting for it to get dark. It is pretty hot here in Virginia Beach, so we had music and the fan on while we waited. Needless to say when my husband went to start the car up, the battery was dead! Can you hear me screaming???
My husband ran home...he used to be a track star thank goodness!!!!
My seven year old daughter Katie was so scared, poor thing! But at least she got to see a few fireworks.
My husband got his truck and came back to save us. What a night.
Well on a nicer note, here is my finished Jeannie and her bottle. She is hand made from my original drawing. She was just put in my Etsy shop.
I am trying to plan out my next few designs. I am not sure if I want to do a monkey just like the monkey pin, but bigger. And I am getting excited to start the fall and winter softies!!
Have a wonderful day.
