FALL IS IN THE AIR

As I look around Etsy, I am noticing more and more fall products. I have slowly been adding more softies to my etsy site http://www.mommylion.etsy.com/

Like this little black and white pumpkin. It is a small 2 1/2" softie that is hand embroidered and beaded. Then there is the crow...just looking for a scarecrow to bother. Hmmm, I guess I should make one next!

Hi everyone. Well, I made it through my first day back to school. I am so tired. And the kids aren't even back yet! I am setting up my art room, making up exciting lessons, and getting organized.

I thought you might enjoy seeing a Halloween cat I made. He is about 10 1/2" tall with a hand painted face.

Last day of summer vacation

I promised myself that I would start a blog this summer. It is my last day off. You see Monday I start back to school. I am a middle school art teacher (Yes, I wonder why myself sometimes).



I must admit, as great as summer has been, I am always a little excited to see those new faces sitting in my classroom. I hope this year will be a wonderful one. One of the things I am not looking forward to is going to bed earlier at night so that I can get up at 5 A.M. each day!



I am an artist for as long as I can remember. I had a little friend named Kathy who lived down the street from me in Williamsville, NY. We use to have competitions to see who could draw the best of anything...then run to our moms and ask who won...Poor moms!! Funny thing, she became an artist also.



I now have a 7 year old daughter who is sweet, energetic, artistic, and means the world to me! I also have a husband who is the most talented musician I have ever met. The man sings like an angel...but I know better!



Thanks for hearing me out. Now it's time to figure out how to add pictures of my work.

In order from left to right, these people happen to be on the same cover. I first thought that Blake lively would be a really good sailor Jupiter. And then I saw this cover, and realized the rest actually fit pretty well.

If you didnt know, my new goal in life is to art direct the American live action sailor moon movie. I have realized this as ive gotten more involved in film,..... and this week ive been watching super s on dvd. Yeah I'm a little unserious because this has 1 percent chance of happening, but it would be the best icing to the cupcake that is my life.

And I feel a little silly. If I had it my way, it would be completely awesome. But I suspect that if it ever did get made, it would be completely terrible, like that batman movie with Mr freeze. At least it would look really cool.

Neighbor listening to matchbox 20 loudly

I like where I live, there was an outdoor festival basically on my street, and I walked to it, and met up with or talked to in passing, to about 10 people.



They came to my house after, and I got so many comments about how cute my apartment is. And we hung out on my porch for hours, then to mugshots.

I feel awesome

Because im doing car work at the gas station being all independent, and older man walks up and says, "you need any help?" and I say "no I think I got it. Thanks though."



And by car work I only mean filling it with some more oil because its been leaking. Which is new to me personally.

But something new always makes my day.



Going home in general this weekend was a good idea.

One thing I learned in elementary school and remember often, is to never let something you've worked on leave your hands until you think its worthy enough for God. Not that I am especially religious, but I still live with most of the same morals I was taught growing up.
