yesterday was so gross. the fog got worse than this through the day...by the time we went to sleep the studio was nigh on bright from all the light refraction from (at least) the city lights. it was a most perfect day to stay inside and watch my current obsession The West Wing. brilliant show.
i'd be remiss, however, to provide for you proof that nasty days can still be fruitful.
stephanie was in town for thanksgiving and we had the privilege to have kevin mosey over to the studio.
we decided it was time to have uke a million to team up with cat "steve" evans and the song this time would be a wonder from the vault of The Mr. T Experience.
all that to say, not only did we produce an awesome cover of Sorry for Freaking Out on the Phone Last Night, it even managed to find it's way to, lead singer, dr frank's blog.

Holiday Fun
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Ours was packed with fun and family. We had so much food that it would not fit in the fridge! Needless to say I ate more then I should have. But it was a great time for all.
Here are some of the pictures. The little turkeys were a gift to my daughters 2ND grade class!

Living Crafts Magazine
I found a wonderful magazine today while I was suppose to be shopping for Thanksgiving dinner. It is Living Crafts, a rich mix of fiber arts, toys, candles and more. I also went to there web site at http://www.livingcrafts.com/directory.php
and found a list of several shops. one shop at www.dewitteengel.com is packed with kits, embroidery supplies and 100% wool felt. My heart jumped when I saw the felt. My little local fabric store here at the beach is no longer going to carry it.
So it looks like Thanksgiving decorating will have to wait until I get my order done. Hope they take Pay pal!!

I love it
My car has developed a new piece of character over the last few weeks. When I push the lock button one of the doors makes a squeaking sound, and it's been gradually getting louder. It's like my car is a big green pet!

Gingerbread Girl
If you want to have a unique Christmas display this year why not think pink. It seems to be a great holiday color. Also, I have been seeing a ton of soft browns in the stores.
Here is a little pink Gingerbread girl that you can find at my shop www.mommylion.etsy.com
Oh, and here is a little mouse illustration in the making!

Christmas baking
Time to star making Christmas cookies! These are handmade and ready to go into stockings or to top a package.
My softies are all handmade. No sewing machine is used in the process. These little treats are beaded with glass beads and sequins. You can see them at my Etsy shop. They are sold with two tied together or separately. More are on the way!

Snow Dream Girl In The Making
It does not snow too often here in Virginia Beach. Living near the ocean keeps it just a little too warm to snow. I love snow! I lived in Buffalo New York for many years, so I have had my share of shoveling snow and snowball fights.
When I wanted to create a snow theme for a doll, I went to several fabric stores and fell in love with some soft flannel fabrics.
Here she is in the making...Snowflake will be in my Etsy shop soon. Stop by and have a look at what is new. http://www.mommylion.etsy.com/
